Sydney Crowe
Sydney Crowe is a second year Events Management student who has worked in events since she was sixteen. She prides herself in being funny at least 30% of the time and putting her high school improv skills to good use as an adult in various ways including convincing people to give her a microphone and make terrible jokes throughout the entire emceeing process. She will be your host for this event, so please; feel free to laugh at all of her bad jokes.
Michele Vesprini
Michele Vesprini works as a guidance counsellor at St. Thomas More Catholic Secondary School in Hamilton, Ontario. She has been a teacher for over 25 years, impacting the lives of our youth as a Physical Education teacher in her early years, as a coach throughout her career and today as guidance counsellor.
An accomplished athlete, Michele played professional basketball in Europe, broke scoring records while playing at Western University and has been inducted into the Western Hall of Fame as the only athlete to ever be named Athlete of the Year twice in the university’s rich sport history. Most recently, Michele was named one of the top 100 female basketball players in U-Sport’s 100 year history of women’s basketball.
Currently, Michele lives in Ancaster with her husband, Brad and two young boys, Sam and Charlie.
Following the birth of her second child in 2016, Michele was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Her children were 3 years and 5 months of age. Despite her fight including a mastectomy and chemotherapy treatments that rendered her bald and bed-ridden, Michele chose to find the blessings in her journey.
She doesn’t refer to herself as a survivor, but as a Warrior Princess: “Cancer patients are fighters, warriors; we don’t survive our battles, we triumph over them; we conquer the beast.”
Christine Mulligan
Christine is a senior PhD student who has been under the supervision of Dr. Mary L’Abbé since 2015. Her doctoral research aims to measure the extent, nature, and power of child-appealing marketing on food packages in Canada, through the use of a novel coding tool. Other research interests include: examining the influence of stakeholders on the development and implementation of food policy in Canada, the application and development of nutrient profiling models, and dietary assessment. Christine is also undertaking a Collaborative Specialization in Public Health Policy through the Dalla Lana School of Public Health
Kristina Marchiori
Kristina Marchiori is an Occupational Therapist and Yoga Instructor. She’s a part time hiker and a full time cat mom who loves tacos and having dance parties whenever and wherever she can.
